Who is Decor-Rest?

Decor-Rest is a family run furniture manufacturer with more than five decades of providing comfortable and beautiful furniture that’s built to stand the test of time (and families). But how did Decor-Rest start? In 1972, Decor-Rest Chesterfield incorporated and rented their first warehouse. By 1980, Decor-Rest owned their own factory, which is now their corporate home in Toronto. In 1995, Decor-Rest furniture was being shown in a company-owned showroom, and by 2001, less than 30 years since their inception, Decor-Rest had been recognized for their product design and marketability with more Trillium Awards than any other upholstery company. 

The 2000s marked another era of innovation and forward thinking by Decor-Rest with the start of the company importing accents from around the world, partnering with S&C designers and media personalities Steven Sabaos and Chris Hyndman, and opening its third showroom. To highlight the passion and innovation of Decor-Rest, in 2013, Angelo Marzelli was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Canadian Home Furnishings Alliance.

Sinuous springs are added to the back (12 gauge) and seating (8 gauge) to prevent sagging. These springs are attached to the frame with polyresin spring clips to prevent squeaking.

Large deluxe edge roll is added to the seating area of the frame to hold seat cushions in place. The deck, the surface directly underneath the sofa’s seat cushions, is fully covered with extra padding. Want even more comfort? The arms are padded as well.

The inside of the fabric of your sofa has unique channeled backs, which are filled with siliconized fiber to prevent flattening or shifting. All of the styles made by Decor-Rest include foam that is luxurious while remaining eco-friendly.
