Here at Room Concepts, we’ve noticed a shift in the furniture industry and it’s due to the pandemic. We are seeing many customers who are trying to order and receive furniture quickly. This is great news for us and we are so excited to help you choose your next furniture piece. However, the entire industry, regardless of which store you shop at, is drastically delayed in fulfilling orders.

For us, a typical lead time was 6-8 weeks on custom furniture prior to the pandemic. Since the pandemic, our times are ranging from 10-16 weeks. This is partly because manufacturers are having challenges securing various fabrics and components needed to build the furniture mixed with record high sales volumes and backlogs at the manufacturers. 

We believe that since most people are not traveling now, customers are using that money to update their homes. This includes furniture, home remodeling, decks, pools etc. All of these companies are seeing record business and interest. Consequently, it’s taking longer than normal to order and receive furniture and/or get on the schedule to receive a service. 

We are trying to help our customers by not only giving you the most accurate info at the time of the sale, but also following up throughout the process to keep you informed of any delays or changes. Likewise, we’ve allowed many floor models to be sold and delivered right away to help those customers who are unable to wait 10-16 weeks.
